Chi Stem Toys inc. is a non-profit organization, founded by Ngozichukwuka Agwu, Rev. Dr.Nkechi Agwu, and Bishop Dr. Ebony Kirkland. It is geared towards teaching children, youth, women, and disabled people skills in S.T.E.M, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Communication.
History
Where it all began
Chi Stem Toys Inc. was birthed out of the educational research and curriculum development activities of Dr. Agwu, a Carnegie Fellow and Ethno-mathematician, a Professor of Mathematics and former Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching Learning and Scholarship at the Borough of Manhattan Community College . City University of New York and the author of "God's Own: The Genesis of Mathematical Story-telling."
It is a unique in its innovative and creative approach to teaching children and youth to learn STEM concepts from a business entrepreneurship toy building model that ties into their cultural heritage. Recycling of waste materials and that uses mathematical story-telling to make visible the work and lives of rural and/or successful women in STEM. Expanding upon the Carnegie Project of Agwu.
